Charlottesville Fencing Alliance (CFA) consists of a dedicated 6400+ square foot fencing facility located in the heart of downtown Charlottesville. Features of our club include:
Fencing Floor
CFA has a state of the art rubber reflex floor that is easy on the knees, super grippy and feels like a normal hard floor surface. We offer six regulation electric strips, 3 of which are grounded, as well as four practice strips for lessons, drills and bouting.
Pro Shop
We have a complete Pro Shop with armoring services to provide a complete set of fencing gear and supplies at competitive prices.
Armoring Bench
For the “do it yourselfers” we have a full armoring bench with everything needed to repair, rewire or build your own weapons and cords including a bench vice, multi-meter, soldering equipment and “persuader bars” for canting tangs.
Locker Rooms
We have separate men’s and women’s locker rooms with gear storage lockers available. Nearby is a washer and dryer on site in case you don’t want to travel with your “well seasoned” fencing gear.
Exercise Room
We have a stationary bike, free weights and benches, punching bags, Pilates balls and a bowflex. All members are welcome and encouraged to make use of this exercise equipment, but if you are under 18 you must be supervised.
Seating/study areas
We have a kitchenette for members including microwave, coffee maker, fridge, toasters and typical kitchen supplies. Members are welcome to bring a snack or prepare their own lunches. In the seating area we have comfortable couches and wireless internet throughout the building. We also have several “study nooks” within the facility.
